US Club Soccer adds business leadership, club admin experience to Member Administration Department

CHARLESTON, S.C. (July 16, 2025) – US Club Soccer is proud to announce two new hires to its Member Administration Department. Ashley Heffernan, director, and Kathy McGuffin, coordinator, have joined US Club Soccer to enhance the organization’s offerings and provide best-in-class customer service to more than 750,000 members across the country.

Ashley Heffernan comes to US Club Soccer with a range of business leadership experience, most recently as Sr. Manager of Donor Development for March of Dimes South Carolina. Prior to that, she was the Sr. Manager of Business Services for Advanced Technology International, a research and development nonprofit servicing the federal government. She also has significant communications and journalism experience, having served as Director of Communications & Operations for Tri-County Cradle to Career Collaborative, staff writer for the Charleston Regional Business Journal and public information specialist for the Medical University of South Carolina.

Heffernan will lead the team, which is responsible for day-to-day servicing and execution of registration and administration-related procedures for members. The Member Administration Department is the longest-tenured department in the organization, anchoring US Club Soccer in a customer service mindset since its founding in 2001. Two members of the team have more than 10 years of experience apiece: Rachel Burroughs (12 years) and Wake Haga (10).

Kathy McGuffin joins US Club Soccer after serving as registrar and treasurer of BVB International Academy over a 17-year period. BVB International Academy America has 17 affiliates in the U.S., spanning both coasts and Hawaii. McGuffin remains based in Texas, where she’ll continue to serve the soccer community, now on a national level. Prior to working with BVB International Academy, McGuffin was a high school special education teacher.

Heffernan’s and McGuffin’s additions continue a period of staff growth for US Club Soccer. Earlier this year, the Education & Development Department hired two new positions.
