CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 19, 2025) – DICK’S Sporting Goods and US Club Soccer are proud to extend their partnership, which began in Spring 2019, recognizing the power of sport to change lives. The agreement dedicates resources towards US Club Soccer programming and initiatives, including “Bigger Than Soccer,” an initiative US Club Soccer created to highlight people who use the sport to better their communities.
“We’re thrilled to continue working with DICK’S Sporting Goods,” said Alexandra Rieben, US Club Soccer VP of Programs and Partnerships. “It’s important to us that our partners are truly a resource to our members and that they’re aligned with our core values. DICK’S Sporting Goods is a valuable partner for US Club Soccer and asset to the youth sports community.”
DICK’S Sporting Goods has also signed on to support US Club Soccer’s education and development efforts, specifically for grassroots coaches and initiatives that recruit, advance and retain women coaches in sport. DICK’S Sporting Goods is the presenting sponsor of the Foundational Playbook, a robust resource for new and seasoned coaches alike that contains principles for success on and off the field, moments of reflection, sample session plans, parent engagement tips and more. It is available exclusively in the US Club Soccer App. Additionally, DICK’S Sporting Goods is co-sponsoring scholarships for women coaches to attend the annual WeCOACH Youth & High School Women Coaches Academy.
“At DICK’S Sporting Goods, we believe sports have the power to inspire and create lasting change,” said Mark Rooks, VP of Creative, Sponsorships & Entertainment at DICK’S Sporting Goods. “Renewing our partnership with US Club Soccer reinforces our commitment to young athletes and coaches, while supporting initiatives like ‘Bigger Than Soccer’ to keep the game accessible and inclusive for the next generation.”
While DICK’S Sporting Goods is recognized as the leading omnichannel retailer in the U.S., the organization is focused on much more, committing to the empowerment of players and coaches beyond the field of play. In 2014, the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation created the Sports Matter Program, pledging more than $50 million and saving more than 2,000 teams, as the Foundation believes children should have the character-building, confidence-creating and motivational moments that sports provide.
Two years ago, US Club Soccer launched its “Bigger Than Soccer” campaign with parallel intent. The storytelling series celebrates the individuals propelling the game forward. US Club Soccer members wishing to nominate an individual may do so by emailing communications@usclubsoccer.org.
